Women do not wear hijabs, and the country, which has been producing wine since ancient times, allows alcohol consumption freely. Visitors often remark that it feels like being in Europe.

Having been under Russian rule for 100 years and Soviet rule for 70 years, many Azerbaijanis live abroad. Interestingly, while Azerbaijan has a population of about 10 million, there are approximately 15 million ethnic Azerbaijanis in Iran. The total number of Azerbaijanis worldwide is estimated at 50 million. This diaspora experience resonates with the Korean people, who share a similar history.
