Azerbaijan is still a relatively unfamiliar country to us. Situated on the shores of the Caspian Sea, it lies at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, sharing borders with Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, and Iran. With a cultural history dating back to 5000 BC and rich natural resources, Azerbaijan has been solidifying its international standing since the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

In March 2024, at the invitation of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Azpromo), a delegation from South Korea visited Azerbaijan, meeting with companies across various regions. Witnessing the country’s potential and beauty firsthand, they observed the vast reserves of oil and natural gas, as well as the abundant organic agricultural products and wines produced from its expansive, fertile lands. These resources indicate that Azerbaijan has significant potential and could be an excellent partner for South Korea, which imports raw materials for processing and export.

This experience led to the creation of the “PeopleAZ” website. We aim to provide information about Azerbaijan, the “Land of Fire,” with its harmonious blend of the modern and the ancient, and its rich culture and natural beauty. We are committed to helping you open the door to a future as business partners.
